The UK is home to 18 native bat species, which account for about 20% of all British mammal species!

Join us for a bit of a batty evening where we will welcome Wantage's very own 'Batman' David Endacott.

David works with the Oxfordshire Bat Group which provides a rescue service for grounded, sick or injured bats with the aim of getting them back into the wild whenever possible.

He will describe the bats he sees and discuss the population in Oxfordshire, their conservation needs, activities and surveys carried out at roost sites.

Our Reading Group is not a traditional book club. Instead, it's a relaxed and friendly opportunity to meet each month, chat about what we've been reading, share our favourite genres, exchange recommendations and discover new authors and books. Members can also bring along books they've enjoyed and swap then with others. I do hope you will be able to join us.

 

 

Where & when we meet

The Comrades Club, 69 Newbury Street, Wantage OX12 8DJ. The fourth Thursday of every month - the bar opens at 19.30, the meeting begins at 20.00. Disabled access and ample parking. Guests are always welcome - with no obligation to join.
